PURPOSE: A method for coding and decoding a distributed video capable of modifying a group of pictures and an apparatus for performing the same are provided to achieve high coding efficiency by adaptively changing a GOP(Group of Picture) consisting of a prediction Wyner-Ziv frame and a key frame according to the properties of a video sequence while performing the distributed video coding. CONSTITUTION: A distributed video encoding method performed by a distributed video encoding apparatus includes the steps of: generating a prediction Wyner-Ziv frame and a key frame(S400) from a predetermined frame; obtaining rate-distortion of the prediction Wyner-Ziv frame and rate-distortion of the key frame(S410); comparing the rate-distortion of the prediction Wyner-Ziv frame and the rate-distortion of the key frame(S420); and encoding the current frame into an encoding mode which has the lower rate-distortion between the Wyner-Ziv frame and the key frame(S430).
