The invention relates to a base for supporting vertical street furniture elements (lamp posts, signposts, poles, etc.) which is made up of two parts (1 and 3) which can be inserted on one another, the bottom part being anchored to the ground while the top part fits onto the bottom part by means of a pair of rails. The relative movement of the top and bottom parts is restricted by the action of a brake (5) made up of a plate (6) which is connected by a screw (7) and nut (9) to the top portion of the base. Said plate (6) has a notched area (8) at either end, in which a nylon pad (12) is arranged, the breakage of which, caused by a sideways force near the base, would release the top portion, enabling same to slide over the bottom portion. |
