摘要 <p>Provided is a method for manufacturing an electrowetting element wherein a first liquid material and a second liquid material having a surface energy lower than the first liquid material, which are not mutually mixed are included in a cell formed between a first substrate and a second substrate arranged opposite each other, at least either the first liquid material or the second liquid material is gelated or is made to have high viscosity, and the interface shape in the first liquid material or in the second liquid material is changed in response to the application of a voltage in the cell. The method comprises a step of making a liquid material with low viscosity by the application of a stimulus to at least either the first liquid material or the second liquid material that is gelated or is made to have high viscosity. According to the present invention, an electrowetting element can be easily manufactured and an electrowetting element manufactured by the present invention does not contribute to a rise in application voltage, or a delay in operation.</p>
