The gear box strand (10) has an input shaft (14) and an output shaft (16) that are provided with manual transmission (12) for torque conversion between input shaft and output shaft. A hydraulic machine (36) is coupled to output shaft for delivering torque to output shaft. The hydraulic machine is hydraulically coupled with hydraulic high pressure accumulator (44), and pressure and volume of high pressure accumulator are selected for filling a torque, when switching the torque transmission. An independent claim is included for a powertrain.
