The motor coupling unit (1) has a compressor (14) for providing compressed air, a torque transmission unit (8) for driving the compressor, and a coupling unit (6) for torque-transmitting coupling of torque transmission unit to motor, such that vapor pressure of a process fluid of operated expander (12) is vaporized by the waste heat (34) for driving the torque transmission unit. The compressor is provided with compression stroke piston (28) for generating compressed air and/or the expander is provided with expansion cylinder (22) for expansion of the process fluid. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an expander; and (2) a method of transmitting power between internal combustion engine of vehicle and motor coupling unit.
