The device (1) comprises a monitor measurement unit (2) and a beam splitter arrangement (3), which has three beam splitters (3.1 to 3.3) designed for extraction and transmission of main beam (H) from a laser beam (L) generated by the laser assembly and for extraction and deflection of a monitor beam (M) from the laser beam. The beam splitters are arranged such that the main beam passes through a former beam splitter and the latter beam splitter in the transmission in the direction of a performance measuring unit (4) and is measured by the performance measuring unit. An independent claim is included for a method for performance measurement of laser arrays.
