<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining method that can join materials having oxide films at joining surfaces such as aluminum-base or magnesium-base metals in the atmosphere with low pressurization without using flux, and an insert material used for such joining. <P>SOLUTION: The insert material 43 is interposed between superposed materials 42, 46 to be joined, and in this state, the materials to be joined are heated while being relatively pressed to cause a eutectic reaction between the materials 42, 46 to be joined and the insert material 43. A fused material of the eutectic reaction is discharged from the joining surfaces along with oxide films 42a, 46a of the materials to be joined, to join both materials to be joined. At this time, the insert material 43 is provided with unevenness 43c as a stress concentrating means for destroying the oxide films 42a, 46a to form a starting point for the eutectic reaction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
