Agricultural machinery for planting seed is disclosed in 5 this application. The agricultural machinery includes a chassis that is configurable to enable transport of the machinery on standard road-going vehicles. The machinery further includes means that enables lateral shifting of seed planting units. A seed planting unit having means for 10 reducing down pressure is further disclosed.
