摘要 The present invention addresses the problem of controlling the supercharging pressure so as to ensure hardware reliability during transient operation in a diesel engine equipped with a turbocharger the supercharging pressure of which can be controlled dynamically by means of an actuator. This control device calculates a first target value for the supercharging pressure on the basis of the rotational frequency of the engine and the fuel injection amount. Then, an actuator is operated by means of feedback control so as to bring the actual supercharging pressure, as calculated from the signal from a supercharging pressure sensor, to a value close to the first target value. However, when and only when the actual exhaust pressure is greater than a prescribed standard exhaust pressure and the rate of change of the exhaust pressure is greater than a prescribed standard exhaust pressure rate of change, a second target value which is lower than the first target value is set. When the second target value has been set, the target value of the feedback control is changed from the first target value to the second target value.
