Disclosed are a processing method and device for locking a terminal. The method comprises: detecting whether standby time of a terminal reaches lock state time; if yes, determining whether the terminal is in static state; if the terminal is in static state, prohibiting the terminal from entering lock state; if the terminal is not in static state, setting the terminal to enter lock state. In the present invention, upon reaching the lock state time, the terminal does not enter lock state directly. Instead, it is determined first whether the terminal is in static state. If the terminal is in static state, the terminal is prohibited from entering lock state. Therefore, the number of times of terminal locking is reduced. The problem of frequent terminal screen locking and unlocking incurred by unnecessary terminal screen locking scenarios in the prior art is solved. The method saves the user from frequent unlocking operations, thereby improving the user experience.
