<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance spot welded joint for high-strength thin steel sheets excelling in joint tensile property, and a welding technology for obtaining the joint. <P>SOLUTION: The resistance spot welded joint for high-strength thin steel sheets is formed by a resistance spot welding method of welding two or more overlapped high-strength thin steel sheets by holding them between a pair of electrodes and applying a current while applying pressure. In the joint, a softened region lower in hardness than a base material exists on the outside of a nugget, and a structure in the nugget has an equiaxed shape and is a martensitic structure.
