<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that detects user operation on the entire operation area and releases power-saving mode without enlarging the device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device having normal mode and power-saving mode that consumes less power than the normal mode, includes an operation part for receiving an instruction from a user. The operation part has an operation area for receiving a predetermined instruction from a user, a first detection part arranged for the operation area to detect an input from the user to the operation area in the normal mode, power control means for controlling supply of power in the normal and power-saving modes, and cutting off the power to be supplied to the first detection part in the power-saving mode, and a second detection part for detecting an input from the user to the operation area in the power-saving mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
