<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a device and a method for switching a power switch. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes controlling the switch of a switching power supply to switch on and off in a switching cycle. A pulse-width-modulated switching signal, which responds to a feedback signal indicative of a load condition of the output of the power supply, is supplied from a modulation circuit to a switch signal generator. In response to the feedback signal indicative of the load condition, the modulation circuit supplies to the switch a variable peak switching current proportional to a fixed peak switching current or the feedback signal. Further, a multicycle modulation circuit is provided. The multicycle modulation circuit generates a switch signal according to the load condition in response to the feedback signal without interruption, or disables the switch signal generator for a first time period, and subsequently enables the switch signal generator for a second time period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
