<p>Modification of saline slags from the processes of second smelting of aluminium and the use thereof as adsorbents of the products obtained. The activation is described of saline slags from the processes of second smelting of aluminium through contact with acid, basic, or neutral aqueous solutions, separation of the aqueous solution and calcinations at high temperatures. The procedure of the invention permits the obtainment of materials having high specific surface area, even exceeding 200 m2, in particular when the slag is placed in contact with water under reflux conditions. The activated slags obtained may be utilized as adsorbents of heavy metals present in aqueous solutions. Having been utilized, they may be regenerated by means of treatment with acid solutions, washing and drying, and be reutilized.</p> |
