Support for troubleshooting an industrial assembly

The method involves assigning each system component to one of the multiple abstracted component types and executing a piping and instrumentation diagram of the industrial system component-wise based on a start point along a pipeline system. Each system component has access to its component graph assigned according to component type. The individual component graphs are added to a system of directed, weighted overall graphs of the industrial system, to whose knots multiple individual system components are assigned. An independent claim is included for a device for supporting the fault diagnosis of an industrial system.
