<p>A solid fuel appliance (e.g. a stove 11) receives combustion air ducted directly to a combustion chamber 29 from outside a chamber or room forming the environment in which the appliance is located, with means for selectively delivering some air into the environment. The means can be a door 19 which when open uncovers opening 44 from a plenum chamber (28, fig 1), allowing an air bleed to equalise pressure inside and outside the appliance without spillage of combustion gases. Another embodiment (not illustrated) duct 25 has an opening operated by a user, which may also be linked to door opening.</p> |
