The system has a communication device (KEH) coupled with a network- connected computer (GW) that is coupled with a call control computer (GK). The device is logged on by transmitting an inquiry message (ANF) to the computer (GK) via the computer (GW) so as to test authenticity of the computer (GW) and authorization of the computer (GK). The computers are assigned to different communication networks. - The system performs the verification of a checksum of the inquiry message while testing the authenticity of the network-connected computer. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a process to log on a communication device in a communication system.
