Disclosed is a shifting console for a motor vehicle transmission in which the operating lever is mounted so as to be pivotable about a common geometrical shifting axis in several parallel shift lanes as well as in a selector lane that connects the shift lanes by the fact that the operating lever laterally embraces a swivel bearing piece along with two bearing arms and is mounted therein so as to be rotatable about the shifting axis while the swivel bearing piece is mounted in a housing frame that is fixed to the vehicle body so as to be rotatable around the selector shaft. The operating lever (2) is mounted in the swivel bearing piece (7) by means of a monolithic shifting bearing bolt (8) while the swivel bearing piece (7) is mounted in the housing frame (11) with the aid of a monolithic selector bearing bolt (12). A first of the two bearing bolts (8, 12) is provided with a greater diameter than the second of the two bearing bolts (8, 12) within the swivel bearing piece (7). Said first of the two bearing bolts (8, 12) comprises a continuous bore (15) that runs coaxial to the second bearing bolt (12) and is located in the area of the intersection of the shifting axis (3) and the selector shaft (4), the second bearing bolt (12) penetrating the first bearing bolt (8) in the continuous bore (15).
