In a two-part coupling for screened leads, each part has a housing 4 enclosing an insulating contact-carrying member 3, against which a sleeve 1 attached to the cable screen is pressed by a sleeve 7 in turn acted on by a pressure bushing 10 screwable with the housing 4, the end of sleeve 1 being slit so that it is expanded into conducting contact with the housing 4. A stepped sleeve 5 fits over the housing 4 and engages claws on the co-operating sleeve 5 when the two coupling parts are locked together by nuts 11. Thus the wiring space and contact elements are surrounded by a double screening. The pressure bushing 10, secured to the housing 4 by a set screw 12, is provided with an external thread on which is screwed an insulating terminal covering 15 receiving a resilient socket 13 with tension-releasing clip 14 to prevent excess bending of the cable. In a modification one of the coupling halves may be formed as a flanged socket adapted to be fixed on apparatus.
