Braking device for a railway vehicle

The device has lining carrier (4) comprising a vertical guide (40), where a brake lining is arranged in the vertical guide. A locking unit (6) i.e. bolt, locks the brake lining in the vertical guide. Elastic units (7) exert vertical force on the brake lining to fix the brake lining in the vertical guide. The elastic units are placed at an upper end (40A) of the vertical guide, where stiffness of the elastic units lies within a range of 80-100 Newton per meter. The elastic units are designed as leaf springs or damping coating that is made of elastomeric silicone.
