[Also in Division B7] Storage racks 1a-1d are moved between stationary racks 1e, if so that a passage 2 is left free between any two of the movable racks, a reversible electric motor 3 being mounted on each rack 1a-1d to drive propelling member 5. Each of the movable racks carries a reversing switch 6 and cam-operated limit switches ES1, ES2. To move rack 1a towards the right so as to produce a passage between it and rack 1e, switch 17 is closed and the appropriate switch 6 is positioned to energize main contactor 20. Relay 15 is then energized to connect the motor 3 to the mains so that rack 1a moves towards the right and normally is stopped at the correct location by the opening of limit switch ES1. If the limit switch fails to operate, a timing relay Z<SP>1</SP> switches off the motor at the end of a predetermined period. Actuation of a foot switch 11 de-energizes the driving motor when the moving rack is in an intermediate position. If it is desired to move racks 1b, 1c, to the left to produce a passage between racks 1c, 1d, the switch 6 on rack 1c is shifted to position 6L. The energization of relay 14 on rack 1c causes the energization of the corresponding relay on rack 1b, so that the motors are connected in parallel for the required movement. |
