<p>A method for harvesting cells grown on a 3D hydrogel matrix is provided. The method, which comprises a combination of enzymatic and mechanical steps, is gentle, simple, and fast. Furthermore, in contrast to commonly used harvesting procedures, the method provided by the present invention is non-disruptive to cell structures and functions. Also provided are isolated cells harvested by such a method and uses of these cells in a variety of applications such as cell therapy, biomaterial, and tissue engineering.</p> |
