The apparatus i.e. calender (1), has a web application tape (4) applying a paper or paperboard web (2) to a heatable roller (5) about a wrap angle of greater than 5 degrees. The tape is guided by tape guide rollers (11-13) that are supported in a movable support (23). The tape is adjustable with servomotors (7, 8) from an operating position in which the tape rests on the heatable roller, into a release position in which the tape is lifted away from the heated roller. The tape is further adjustable with the servomotor beyond the release position into a maintenance position. |
