<p>System for monitoring the intake of an alcoholic beverage comprises a means of measuring the drink weight within a vessel and communicating the weight to a processer means, which calculates a prescribed unit of alcohol based upon provided alcoholic beverage information. Possibly including an automatic tare function, the measuring means may be incorporated into a platform attachable or contactable with the vessel, where a switch located on a top or bottom platform side enables the tare function. Beverage information which may be user inputted or storage retrieved, may include ABV, drink-type and/or weight to volume conversion factors. The processor may be located in a smartphone or personal-computer comprising a display. Communication between the weighing means and smartphone/personal-computer may be a wireless transmission link having an alert indicating a broken link. Possible error detection may discount improbable measurements and may involve determining when the maximum beverage weight is exceeded and/or using a predetermined time to detect exceeding a maximum flow rate into the vessel. A housing incorporating weighing means communicates with a processor for weighing an alcoholic beverage in a vessel. A system for monitoring wireless connection and alerting of connection break, which may include an audible, visual or kinaesthetic alert.</p> |
