In a throttle valve for an elastically deformable hot water pipe, e.g. of rubber, elastomer or synthetic plastic, a non-corrosive brass or bronze disc 15 of larger diameter than the undeformed pipe 10 is pivoted about a spindle 13 passing through a formed-on boss 11 of the elastically deformable material, which acts as a seal.
