PURPOSE: A device for measuring the position of a mobile robot using an indoor ceiling image and a method thereof are provided to measure the position of a mobile robot using the edge or an indoor light in the ceiling image. CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring the position of a mobile robot using an indoor ceiling image comprises a image signal processing unit(130) and a control unit(140). The image signal processing unit processes the image filmed by an image filming unit as a digital image signal. The control unit measures the current position of a mobile robot.
