[Also in Division B5] A protective moulding or beading for straddling over the raw edge of a structure 6 comprises a U-section carrier formed from a zig-zag wire 2 woven into or adhered to a flexible material support 3 with the loops 4 of the zig-zag protruding along each longitudinal edge of the support 3, being inturned towards the base of the U so as to anchor the moulding or beading in operative position on the structure 6. The loop portions 4 are flattened or ground to provide greater frictional grip. The support 3 may consist of adhesive tape on one or both sides of the wire, or of rubber sheet, or of plastics material extruded on to the wire during the shaping of this latter or of paper warp threads woven into the wire formation. A covering 7 may be provided on the outer surface. A rubber or like draught excluding strip 8 may be secured to the surface of one limb of the U.</p> |
