PURPOSE: A lithium secondary battery is provided to have excellent lifetime, strength, and high temperature stability by having excellent separator with porosity and air permeability. CONSTITUTION: A lithium secondary battery comprises a high voltage positive electrode active material-containing positive electrode(4) and a separator(3). The high voltage positive electrode active material has a flat voltage of 4.6V or more. The porosity of the separator is 48-60%. The separator comprises polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinylidene fluoride, or a substrate thereof, which is formed of two or more layers. The separator additionally comprises a porous substrate and a coating layer formed on at least one side of the substrate. |
