CYLINDRICAL SECONDARY BATTERY OF IMPROVED SAFETY

PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to prevent the movement in a jelly-roll cylindrical direction by including an insulating member with frictional coefficient and to remarkably improve battery stability and properties. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery comprises a structure mounted to a cylindrical battery case with a jelly-roll of positive electrode/separator/negative electrode structure. The upper end and lower end of the jelly-roll has an upper insulating member(160a) and a lower insulating member. In order to prevent the movement in a jelly-roll cylindrical movement, the insulating member has a frictional coefficient of 0.2 or more. The insulating member is formed of a polymer resin or electric insulating polymer composite. The polymer resin is selected from polypropylene, polystyrene, polyethylene terephthalate, natural rubber, and synthetic rubber.
