PURPOSE: A damping structure is provided to disperse a horizontal load, such as an earthquake or wind load, transferred to a structure through a composite damping connector. CONSTITUTION: A damping structure comprises structures and a composite damping connector(1). The composite damping connector is connected between the structures and absorbs loads applied to the structures. The composite damping connector comprises horizontal and vertical slit dampers(32,36). The horizontal and vertical slit dampers are directly or indirectly coupled to the structures. |
