PURPOSE: A battery current controlling device and a controlling method thereof are provided to protect a target battery and an outer battery by controlling current flowing into a control target battery based on the voltage difference of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A comparison part(230) compares an outer battery voltage with a control target battery voltage(100). The comparison part outputs one selected from a first output and a second output. A charging current control part(250) varies a resistance value based on the output of the comparison part. The charging current control part controls the amount of charging current flowing into the control target battery. The charging current flows into a resistance, which is having a first resistance value, with the charging current control part after receiving the first output. The charging current flows into a resistance as a second resistance value after receiving the second output.
