PURPOSE: Ferritic stainless steel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to obtain ferritic stainless steel with superior ridging and resistance surface quality after cold rolling and annealing by reducing pits on the surface of a hot rolled steel sheet. CONSTITUTION: Ferritic stainless steel with superior surface quality and ridging resistance comprises carbon of 0.12 weight% or less(0 is exclusive), silicon of 0.75 weight% or less(0 is exclusive), manganese of 1.00 weight% or less(0 is exclusive), phosphorus of 0.040 weight% or less(0 is exclusive), sulfur of 0.030 weight% or less(0 is exclusive), chrome of 16.00-18.00 weight%, and iron and inevitable impurities of the remaining amount. The ferritic stainless steel has a Charpy impact energy of 5Kgf/mm^2 or more after hot annealing and a ridging height of 10μm or less after a tension test. |
