摘要 PURPOSE: A control system of distance between vehicles for a hybrid vehicle and a method thereof are provided to let a electronic brake operate depending on the slope of a road when a motor stops in a state of not needing creep torque, thereby providing stable braking power for a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A control system of a distance between vehicles for a hybrid vehicle comprises a drive information detection unit(100), an electronic brake mechanism(500), and a vehicle controller(200). The drive information detection unit detects information about driving of a vehicle including a number of rotations of an engine, a state of an acceleration pedal, a state of a brake pedal, a vehicle speed, a slope of a road, an inter-vehicle distance to a preceding vehicle. The electronic brake mechanism comprises a caliper and a motor, and generates braking power by restraining the caliper with driving of the motor. The vehicle controller analyzes the information about driving and provides creep driving by driving of the motor according to inter-distance to the preceding vehicle when the analyzed information about driving satisfies the condition of creep control. The vehicle controller maintains stationary state by operating the electronic brake mechanism according to the slope of the road when the motor stops driving.
