PURPOSE: A device and a method for inputting braille in a portable terminal are provided to enable a user to easily input braille by selecting a point location of a braille chart by using a direction key. CONSTITUTION: A braille input device driving unit(104) drives a braille input device when an input mode is executed. The braille input device changes the braille input of a user into characters. An input unit(108) includes the direction key which determines a point location of the braille input device. A braille key confirmation unit(102) determines a point location of a braille input device by sensing the input of a direction key determining the point location of a braille input device. A control unit(100) confirms braille inputted by grasping the point location of the braille input device.
