PURPOSE: An outdoor unit for an air conditioner is provided to prevent operational errors of the control components included in the control box from generating high temperature by cooling the control box. CONSTITUTION: An outdoor unit for an air conditioner comprises an inlet, a heat exchanger, a ventilation fan, an outlet, and a control box. Air, which is drawn through the inlet, flows into the control box. The control box comprises a plurality of cases(20,30), an air inlet, and a hinge unit. The air inlet is located between the separated surfaces and the air flows into the air inlet. The hinge unit is supported on one side of the cases, and the cases mutually move to rotate.
