PURPOSE: A shift lever mode informing device and an operation method thereof are provided to improve the function of H-MATIC by preventing a speed change impact in advance during the operation of the H-MATIC without restricting H-MATIC speed change or installing an additional device. CONSTITUTION: A shift lever mode informing device and an operation method thereof comprises a shift lever device(1), a controller, and an accelerating pedal(5). The shift lever device comprises an auto lever(2) for switching a speed stage through a P-R-N-D(3) speed change and an H-MATIC+/-(4) speed change. The controller senses the speed stage position and speed change mode state of the auto lever. The controller receives the information of TCU(Transmission Control Unit) and a vehicle. The shift lever device is interlocked with a speed change display(10a) displayed on a cluster(10). The accelerating pedal implements two more different vibration modes(21) through the control of the controller. The accelerating pedal implements a recognition mode(22) giving a different feeling from a vibration mode according to the position information of the auto lever.
