摘要 PURPOSE: An automatic pedestrian sensing type walking signal duration extending module and a controlling method thereof are provided to extend walking signal duration automatically by sensing the walking state of a pedestrian inside a crosswalk with a sensor. CONSTITUTION: A first walk sensing part comprises infrared sensors(S1, S2) sensing the walking region of a pedestrian on one side. A second walk sensing part comprises infrared sensors(S3, S4) sensing the walking region of a pedestrian on the other side. A delay algorithm(30) consecutively converts the output of the infrared sensors on the first and second walk sensing parts for continuously sensing the pedestrian. MICOM includes a walking determination algorithm(40). The walking determination algorithm analyzes and calculates the waiting time of the pedestrian.
