<p>The device (1) has a release mass (2) whose diameter is less than that of a caliber tube (20), where the mass is intended to be introduced into the tube at the mouth (40) of the tube so as to release a blocked projectile (10) by inertial impact of the mass. The mass is secured to one end of a rope (3), where the other end of the rope is secured with a release device (4). The release device includes a locking and releasing unit with a control unit for locking and releasing the rope. The control unit includes a timer to provide a release command after a predetermined delay. An independent claim is also included for a method for extracting a projectile stuck in a large caliber tube of an artillery piece.</p> |
