PURPOSE: A mobile device including a security function for the maintenance of a PLC and an authentication method thereof are provided to easily maintain a PLC(Programmable Logic Circuit) by delivering data stored in a PLC memory to a user. CONSTITUTION: A first communication unit(330) performs wireless communication with a server(400) and a second communication unit(340) performs wireless communication with a PLC(500). A storage unit(310) stores data received from the first or second communication unit. When an access privilege is received from the server, a control unit(320) transmits the data stored in the storage unit to the PLC through the first communication unit or to the server through the first communication unit. The second communication unit performs wireless communication with the PLC by using Bluetooth communication. The control unit transmits an MAC(Media Access Control) of a mobile device to request the access privilege.
