A digital broadcasting signal, and an apparatus and a method for processing the digital broadcasting signal are provided to increase the efficiency of a receiver without processing all emergency warning messages. A digital broadcasting signal includes a synchronization channel, a fast information channel(FIC), and a main service channel(MSC). The FIC includes an emergency warning message for emergency warning broadcasting. The digital broadcasting signal is received. The emergency warning message in the FIC is parsed. It is determined whether an emergency warning message having message identification information identical to that of the parsed emergency warning message is previously received. If the previously received emergency warning message is previously received, it is determined whether a version number of the parsed emergency warning message is greater than the version number of the previously emergency warning message. If the version number of the parsed emergency warning message is greater than the version number of the previously emergency warning message, the parsed emergency warning message is received. |
