<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent failure of an image forming apparatus or the occurrence of image defects caused by mixing of non-genuine products. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a developer discharging mechanism 400 that discharges a toner supplied from an attached toner cartridge 98 into a developer tank 234 to which toner is directly supplied to the outside of the developer tank 234 at a supplying position. The image forming apparatus determines if the toner cartridge 98 is a genuine product or not, and if the toner cartridge 98 is not a genuine product, discharges the toner supplied from the toner cartridge 98 into the developer tank 234 to the outside of the developer tank 234. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
