When a K0 clutch (34) is connected after a direct-injection engine (12) is ignition-started, as an engine rotation speed (NE) approaches a MG rotation speed (NMG), engine torque (TE) is decreased in proportion to a speed difference (NMG-NE), and a substantially constant engine rotation speed (NE) is maintained when the speed difference (NMG-NE) is substantially zero. Thus, overshoot of the direct-injection engine (12) or connecting shock can be suppressed regardless of any error in connection timing for the K0 clutch (34), so that improved drivability or ride can be obtained. Further, because the engine torque (TE) is gradually decreased in accordance with the speed difference (NMG-NE), stalling or the like due to the loss of independent rotation capability of the direct-injection engine (12) can be appropriately prevented compared to the case where the engine torque (TE) is decreased uniformly regardless of changes in the speed difference (NMG-NE). |
