<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable proper beam-forming with a simple configuration, even without fixation of the positional relationship between a plurality of vibrators included in the probe of an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: With respect to the plurality of vibrators for which the relative positions are not fixed, a receiving BF unit calculates the phase difference indicative of relative position deviation between the plurality of vibrators, on the basis of the difference between each phase difference in the signals of reflected waves, at the plurality of vibrators, of ultrasound waves transmitted from the vibrator intended for transmission, and each already-known phase difference in the signals of reflected waves at the plurality of vibrators when the arrangement of the plurality of vibrators is assumed to be the reference arrangement. A delay computation unit computes the delay amount, used in beam-forming, for each of the plurality of vibrators, on the basis of the phase difference calculated by a phase difference calculation unit.
