<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect the endocardium of the left ventricle of the heart from three-dimensional image data showing the left ventricle of the heart. <P>SOLUTION: In the medical image processing device for extracting the endocardium of the left ventricle of the heart based on three-dimensional image data showing the left ventricle, a blood region extraction means 20 extracts the blood region in the left ventricle of the heart using image data V; a convex/concave point specifying means 30 obtains convex places from a plurality of sample points located on the profile of the extracted blood region and specifies these convex place-forming convex points and concave points that are sample points other than the convex points; and an endocardium determining means 40 determines a deformed contour of the blood region as the endocardium, the contour of the blood region being deformed by moving at least some of the concave points to the outside of the blood region by an amount determined in accordance with the positional relations with a plurality of convex points positioned around the concave points. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
