A hooked-bolt fastening, in which by turning a handle 27 a bolt 10 is moved axially to engage its hook 11 with a keeper 12 and draw together the parts on which the bolt 10 and keeper 12 are mounted, comprises a body 4 slidably receiving the bolt 10 in pairs of inturned guide lugs 8, 9 and journalling in a housing 6 a drive disc 15 operating linkage 19 to move the bolt 10 longitudinally upon rotation of the disc 15 by the handle 27 which has cam lugs for disengaging a clutch disc 22 interposed between the body 4 and disc 15 so as to permit movement of the bolt. The body 4 may be stamped from sheet metal and have a rolled end 5 embracing a pivot pin 3 received in ears 2 upstanding from a base plate 1. The link 19 has upwardly and downwardly extending lugs connecting an eccentric recess 18 in the disc 15 with a perforation in the bolt 10. The handle 27 is hinged to a central boss 17 of the disc 15. The boss 17 is of square cross-section and slidably receives the clutch disc 22 which has peripheral teeth 23 adapted to fit within marginal teeth 7 of the housing 6 to lock the disc 15 against rotation while the disc 22 is held in position by a spring 24 with the handle 27 horizontal. When the handle 27 is pivoted into vertical position it cams the disc 22 out of engagement and can then be turned to draw the belt.</p> |
