<p>[Problem] To provide a novel non-circulating vanadium redox battery which does not require cumbersome maintenance, and in which problems of leakages etc. that occur in redox flow batteries do not occur. [Solution] The abovementioned problems are solved by a non-circulating redox battery configured in such a manner that: a plurality of sealed electrolyte cells (8) having positive electrode cells (1) wherein a positive electrode electrolyte (31) containing 2.5 mol/L to 4 mol/L of vanadium ions is sealed, negative electrode cells (2) wherein a negative electrode electrolyte (41) containing 2.5 mol/L to 4 mol/L of vanadium ions is sealed, and ion-exchange membranes (3), which are positioned between the positive electrode cells (1) and the negative electrode cells (2), are connected in series; and the positive electrode cells (1) and the negative electrode cells (2) are not connected to a circulation tank and a circulation pump for circulating the positive electrode electrolyte (31) and the negative electrode electrolyte (41).</p> |
