<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the version number of each firmware stored in each unit of each function in a disk array device coincide with firmware to be operated. <P>SOLUTION: A device has a plurality of units of the same kind in the device. A unit has a plurality of storage areas. Firmware for making the unit operate is stored in each of the plurality of storage areas. When the unit is mounted to the device, if the device recognizes the mounting of a first unit whose operating area is unwritable, the version number of firmware stored in each storage area of the first unit is compared with the version number of firmware stored in each storage area of a second unit operating in the device. If the version number of each firmware is not coincident in a comparison means, a storage area in which firmware executed by the first unit is coincided with each storage area of the second unit operating in the device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
