<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, etc. for accurately extracting noticing characteristics to perform quality evaluation of a product by a fixed evaluation standard. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing system 1 includes: functions of a distribution calculation part 31; a threshold determination part 32; a characteristic separation part 33; and a measurement part 34. The distribution calculation part 31 uses an input image 21 as input, and outputs pixel value distribution 22 and pixel value change rate distribution 23. The threshold determination part 32 outputs a threshold 24 by algorithm like artificial intelligence using a value based on the pixel value distribution 22 as input. The characteristic separation part 33 uses the pixel value distribution 22, the pixel value change rate distribution 23, and the threshold 24 as input, separates an area of the input image 21 into areas for every characteristic by using them, and outputs a characteristic area 25.
