<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for releasing a plastic lens from a mold that hardly creates cracks in the plastic lens when the molded plastic lens is released from the mold. <P>SOLUTION: A convex mold 2 and a concave mold 3 are arranged apart with a predetermined space so that lens molding surfaces face to, each other. Monomer is filled and cured in a lens molding unit 1 wounded with an adhesive tape 4 to mold the plastic lens. The plastic lens is emersed in a plurality of tanks that store solutions with different temperatures in order of predetermined times. Preferably, a surfactant is added to the water solution to lower an interfacial tension for promoting the release of the mold.
