957,269. Electric primers. J. ROCHAT. July 18, 1962 [Oct. 27, 1961], No. 27600/62. Heading F3A. An electric primer comprising two electrodes 1, 3 connected by a layer of semi-conductive material deposited on an insulating body 2 separating the electrodes as in Specification 862,987 is made by first depositing a metallic film on the body and then producing an electrical discharge between the electrodes of such voltage that at least a part of the film is converted into a semi-conductive metallic oxide film. The body 2 may be of ceramic material and on it a layer of colloidal silver may be deposited and fixed by heating to a temperature between 600‹ C. and 800‹ C. A condenser, e.g. of 4 MF capacity, is then short-circuited through the electrodes, so that an annulus 10 of silver oxide is formed around the electrode 3 separating the main part of layer 5 from electrode 3. Over this a second layer 11 of colloidal silver is deposited. Other metals such as copper and aluminium may be used. Specification 862,982 also is referred to. |
